What we love: Feria Habitat Valencia 2017

This year we had the pleasure to visit Feria Habitat Valencia 2017 held in the city of Valencia, Spain. This yearly fair puts on display the new furniture offerings from Spanish manufactures and designers, as well as other international guests. Its aim is to sustain and impulse the Spanish furniture industry by serving as platform so an international audience can witness the best and latest from the industry.

The fair is divided into 5 areas or categories to visit.

  1. ·        The “D” area: Design and vanguard
  2. ·        NUDE: New Designers
  3. ·        High Decoration
  4. ·        Contemporary
  5. ·        Contract

This year 404 firms and brands, being a 21% of them foreigners, exposed their brand new products and designs triplicating the size of the event this year and being held on a surface of more than 45,000 m2, offering a display ranging from textile, lighting, furniture, garden and urban furniture.

Our favorite part this year was without a doubt NUDE generation! reuniting designers from Valencia, South Korea, Dominican Republic and Mexico.   Very interesting and new pieces!

As seen earlier in September during M&O 2017 the trends and product offerings seen in Habitat keep its consistency. Dark interiors, rich fabric and materials like velvet and rounded soft shapes for sofas and side tables.

One of our favorite exhibition was "Coleccion Alexandra". This spanish designers/manufactures showed us amazing interior proposals with truly memorable pieces. Elegant, simple and luxurious at the same time.

Our second favorite exhibitions and the most remarkable to us from this show was NUDE. A refreshing view to see new designs, new fabrication techniques and new faces from around the world.

Interactive furniture, decorative pieces and traditional weaving techniques were some of the most interesting pieces from the NUDE exhibit. Particularly loved the proposal form the young students of  South Korean university SangMyung.

Till next year Habitat? :)
